How do I submit information I would like printed in the newspaper?
The answer to this question depends on the type of information. Notices
such as wedding or birth announcements, deaths and funeral notices and
merchandise for sale are generally paid notices and you can contact
advertising. If you want to submit an upcoming event for a calendar
listing, send a press release, announce a business hire, submit a correction
or have an idea for a story, it's best to send information to the appropriate

How do I obtain a back issue?
Issues of The Seattle Times or the Seattle Post-Intelligencer are available dating back two years. Issues printed within 30 days of today's date may be picked up at the Seattle Times Company's main lobby located at 1120 John Street, in Seattle. Lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. For issues dating back further than 30 days and up to two years, to arrange for bulk orders of newspapers, or to have newspapers mailed to you, please call the Back Issues Desk at 206/464-2001 or backissues@seattletimes.com. Select special sections and reprints are also available for mailing or pickup.

Can I tour the newspaper?
We offer group tours for students and others at our state-of-the-art North Creek production facility in Bothell, Washington, about 20 miles north of Seattle. How do I donate to the Fund for the Needy?
100% of all contributions to The Seattle Times Fund for the Needy goes to nonprofit agencies in the community providing vital services to families and children. For more information, please see Fund for the Needy. To make a contribution, please send a check to Fund for the Needy, c/o The Seattle Times, P.O. Box 70, Seattle, WA 98111. Be sure to let us know how we may list your gift in the newspaper: name and amount, name only or anonymous.

How do I find a past article or listing?
To search online, you can search by date or keyword using our seattletimes.com
Web Archive
(registration is required). At this time, about 80 percent of the print
edition is posted online. If you don't find the story you are looking
for, it may not have been posted online. Try searching your public library's
periodical archive. We also suggest you try the public library for anything
published before February 1, 1996, since we don't carry any stories
online published prior to that date. For obituaries, start at the seattletimes.com
Obituaries
page to locate obituaries on prominent individuals during the current
week.
If you can't find it online or at the public library, our Customer Service counter may be able to help.

How do I get permission to use something from the newspaper?
In the case of a very limited number of copies for personal use only, specific permission may not be required. For almost all other situations, including use in film or television and use of Web content, permission is required. Please see Obtaining Permission to Reuse Seattle Times Material for detailed guidelines and helpful contact information.
Under a Joint Operating Agreement (JOA), the Seattle Times Company
handles most business functions for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer (P-I)
but the news and editorial departments are separate. For permission
to reuse P-I content, please contact the P-I directly at 206/448-8000.

How do I get a copy of an article or photograph?
We make reprints or copies of articles, photographs and special series available in several different forms, some suitable for framing. In some cases there is a charge for these materials, in others we offer them free. Please click here for complete information about resale.

How do I apply to become a newspaper carrier?
A newspaper delivery route is a great way to earn income in only a few
hours a day. If you are at least 18 years old, and have a valid driver's
license and your own reliable transportation, please see Become

independent contractors, not employees of The Seattle Times Company.
